Vincent Tyson - (Keyboards, Vocals, Music Director, Founder)
Vincent, a self taught musician, has been performing music of various genres for about thirty years. His musical roots are deep. His father, the late Rev. James E. Tyson was also a skilled pianist and organist. All of Vincent’s six siblings are strongly musically inclined as well as several other close relatives.
Vincent’s musical interests were sparked at an early age. Although there were always plenty of instruments in the Tyson household, he became completely consumed when at the age of twelve, his father brought him home an instrument he had never seen in person before, a brand new Beucsher alto saxophone. He quickly gained knowledge and skills on the saxophone and with so many other instruments surrounding him; he bounced around between them. By the age of fourteen he'd become quite adept on the piano, saxophone, bass guitar, and drums.
While in his early teens Vincent joined a veteran Top 40 band called ‘The Midnite Special Band’ in his hometown of Rochester New York. What followed has been a wonderful journey in the world of musical exploration and discovery. The highlight of his career to date is the one and a half year stretch he spent as the pianist for grammy award winning gospel veteran Tramaine Hawkins.
